Even though I was able to get my G903 on sale for $119.99, the total cost with the $99.99 PowerPlay mousepad was $219.98. Nor can you charge your cellphone or any Qi or PMA devices with the PowerPlay mousepad. Logitech's magnetic resonance system is different and the G903 and G703 Logitech mice will only work with it. This is not the inductive wireless charging system used by cellphones and other Qi-compatible or PMA-compatible devices. This PowerCore is necessary for the mouse to utilize the unique magnetic resonance charging system of the PowerPlay mousepad. This mousepad includes a PowerCore module that you insert into the mouse (where the optional 10-gram weight goes). However, the wireless charging is an optional feature and you must purchase a separate PowerPlay mousepad from Logitech. – The setup instructions say to keep the wireless receiver at least 6.56 feet (2 meters) away from wireless routers.Īt the time of my purchase, the G903 was the only ambidextrous, high-quality mouse that had both wireless communication and wireless charging.– The PowerPlay mousepad comes in only one size and it is too large for my work area (13.5 x 11 inches plus the receiver module).– If wireless charging is desired, the required PowerPlay mousepad is difficult to find because it's been in short supply.– The cost for wireless charging is too high: $149.99 for the mouse plus $99.99 for the PowerPlay charging mousepad. And the side buttons could be farther forward. – The length of the mouse is too long for users with small hands.– The Logitech software offers zero control over the mouse physics (the user cannot alter acceleration curves, etc). Why doesn't each button have a soft glow of light around it? – The only RGB illumination of consequence is the "G" logo.– The rechargeable Li-po battery is not designed to be replaced by the user and Logitech does NOT sell replacements.– The rechargeable Li-po battery lasts only 24-32 hours under continuous use, depending on how the mouse is configured. The ribbed gaps of the primary buttons look horrible. This is one of the loudest mice I have ever used!!! – All buttons on the mouse click VERY LOUDLY.– Wireless charging (requires optional PowerPlay mousepad). The mouse lighting can be synced with the PowerPlay mousepad lighting. I did not feel the need to use the optional 10 gram weight. – Nice weight (not too light, not too heavy).– The side buttons are mounted high enough that I rarely hit them by mistake (I have all four active).– The mouse fits comfortably in my large hand.– Up to five user configurations can be stored in the mouse memory.– Mechanical free-wheeling mode for the roller button.– Wide range of polling rates (125 to 1000 per second).– DPI sensitivity adjustments can be quickly made on the fly (200 to 12000 dpi).– Very accurate (PMW3366 sensor) and very smooth movement (I'm using a "hard" mouse pad).– Ambidextrous design with side buttons that can be removed if undesired.I also purchased the Logitech PowerPlay charging mousepad for $99.99 plus tax from Amazon so I can keep the G903 battery charged wirelessly. I purchased my G903 in Nov-2017 direct from Amazon on sale for $119.99 plus tax (its suggested retail price is $149.99). I chose the Logitech G903 LightSpeed mouse to replace the aging Sensei because I wanted a wireless mouse and the G903 provides a good solution for charging the battery. I'm ambidextrous and use my left hand for the mouse most of the time because of an injury to my right wrist many years ago. It's a corded mouse and I used it for almost 5 years until its buttons began to wear out. My previous mouse was the Pro MLG edition of the SteelSeries Sensei mouse which I purchased on sale for $95.99 in Jan-2013.
